Gulf Coast Humane Society Dolly's Dream Adoption Programs

About the Dolly's Dream Program

Thanks to the Dolly’s Dream Project, Gulf Coast Humane Society has the opportunity to highlight two bully breed type of dogs at a time to help enhance their odds of being adopted and also to spread positive awareness these dogs so justly deserve.

When one of our Dolly’s Dream dogs are adopted, a treasure trove of gifts are supplied, including:

  • Leash, collar and harness
  • Training crate (if needed)
  • Food and water bowls
  • Dog bed
  • Toys
  • Food and treats

The Adoption Fee has been paid for by Dolly’s Dream!

“Dolly” (pictured here) was a Square Head who opened the heart of the man who adopted her and taught him how loving, sweet and gentle these dogs can be. No different than any other type of dog. Today, in her honor, Dolly’s Dream is to give dogs like her a second chance at life and the type of home every dog deserves.

Throughout shelters in the U.S., one of the most common dogs who occupy those kennels are “Square Heads.” Big, tall, short, small they have one thing in common – a head that looks a bit “square.” At first glance, some would call a dog like this a “Pit Bull” or a “bully breed”. Misinformation about these breeds have given many a bad reputation.

Dolly - the Original Dolly's Dream DogDolly’s Dream is a project to encourage the adoption of our “Square Heads” and to help counter the unfortunate stereotypes and myths that some people still believe about these dogs. As a no-kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society enthusiastically takes in every breed, with the ultimate goal in mind to find the perfect, happy forever home for all! Meet Our Current Dolly's Dream Pups

The Adoption Fee for the dogs listed below has been paid for by Dolly’s Dream!

Meet Sasha!

Sasha is a 1-year-old black and white mix bursting with energy, love, and personality! This girl lives life at full speed and loves with her whole heart. If you’re looking for a constant companion who will keep you laughing, moving, and showered in affection, Sasha might just be your perfect match.

Sasha is HIGHLY active and will thrive in a home that can keep up with her adventurous spirit. After she’s had her fun? She turns into an incredibly affectionate cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be right by your side (or in your lap if you’ll let her!).

Because of her energy level and enthusiasm, Sasha is looking for a home with no kids. She would do best with patient, dog-savvy adults who are committed to continuing her training and helping her learn the ropes of being a well-mannered house dog. She’s smart and eager to connect — she just needs guidance, consistency, and someone willing to invest the time to help her shine.

Sasha enjoys other dogs and would love a canine companion — but she plays HARD! She needs dog friends who can match her energy and aren’t easily overwhelmed by her enthusiastic play style.

Sasha is not a couch potato — she’s a project, a partner, and a best friend all wrapped into one happy, wiggly package. With structure, exercise, and lots of love, she is going to blossom into an incredible companion.

Meet Rose!

Rose is an adorable 8-year-old mixed-breed girl weighing about 50 pounds, but don’t let her age fool you—this sweet girl still acts like a puppy! She’s goofy, playful, full of personality, and has the happiest energy. Rose loves her people and has a way of making everyone around her smile with her silly antics and fun-loving spirit. 💕

Rose is a former mama dog who has spent far too much time waiting for a family of her own. After spending over a year in the shelter, she’s more than ready to leave kennel life behind and finally enjoy the love, comfort, and stability she deserves.

Rose is looking for a home with NO DOGS AND NO CATS so she can be your one-and-only four-legged companion. She’s searching for a family who will appreciate her playful personality, provide guidance, and give her all the love she’s been waiting for.

This beautiful girl may be a little older, but she still has so much joy, affection, and puppy-like energy to share. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will keep you smiling, Rose is ready to bloom in her forever home.
